I love window boxes.
They certainly can make a wow!
Finally, I was happy when we got some window boxes of our own.
Took Mike a few years convincing because, he was hesitant to drill in the brick of our home.
Finally, he did, and I have been enjoying them since.
The wood shutters we had custom made by a local home builder.
I spied them in a new development and thought they would look fabulous on our home.
Certainly was an upgrade to the plastic shutters and these will last a lifetime.
The are now 5 years old and still look fantastic in spite of the harsh elements of sun beating down on them. They will need a new coat of stain this year.
Let me share some window box inspiration with you and then of course share our own.
Things are finally greening up around here.
The site hooks and lattic had a great selection.
Although, we just bought ours at Lowes hardware.
I thought these were great inspiration.

Don’t you love how the variations of flowers?
all so different.

I went basic
Petunias,
you know why?
COME On you know why?
That is all I can about keep alive around here.
This here Japanese maple we planted around 4 years ago.
It was a tiny little stick of a tree.
It really does well here with full sun for at least 6 hours of the day.
Been sprucing up the Southern porch as well..
not quite there though yet to show you the full…
soon I will.
They are sort of pathetic looking for now, but give them a month or two, and I hoping they are over flowing with color and blooms.
fingers crossed please:)

Another dreary damp day here in the Carolinas.
I suppose the only bright side to that is that my flowers will grow faster.
Have a great day!

Hey Debbie! Gorgeous outdoor photos! I love window boxes too. I have window style planters on my front and back porches does that still qualify as a window box? It’s been dreary here too but you are right hopely that means everything stays green a little longer. Love your Japanese maple, it’s growing so big!

oooh! I just love all the gorgeous window boxes! I wish we had some!!

Thanks for the inspiration!!

I love your window boxes and beautiful home. It’s nice to look out the window and see flowers. I don’t like to have a window blocked by a hedge or shrub!

I adore window boxes, too and my hubby doesn’t really want to drill into the stucco to hang just one above the garage. I probably couldn’t keep them watered anyway, but love the look. So cold and rainy here, too.
Have a good one.

Debbie! I have been wanting window boxes for years. I haven’t been able to convince hubby yet. Probably because I’m so terrible at keeping anything alive. I’ll just have to enjoy yours from afar. :~)

Oh love window boxes! Yours are so pretty, but like you when I had them in a previous house, I couldn’t keep the flowers alive! Looks like yours has a speck of shade though. I so get hunky mans hesitation to drill into your brick!

Debbie, your window boxes look fabulous, and I’m glad to know that a Japanese maple can thrive in full sun. I have been wanting to plant one, and the spot where I plan to put it receives full sun. I’m pinning and sharing your window box inspiration graphic!

Still love, love, love the Haint Blue porch 🙂 What window boxes? lol.

I love window boxes too. And yours are adorable! I had some at my old home and should have taken them with me since they cost an arm and a leg when I got them. I hope your petunias do well. For me they start out looking real pretty getting luscious and full, but then after awhile they start to look scraggly. Good luck with them!

When Petunias start to get leggy, cut them short and fertilize with liquid fertilizer weekly! You will see that they will look gret again.

Debbie,
Oh so pretty to see flowers. Your home and flowers are so beautiful. I planted the front yard today and will finish the back hopefully tomorrow. My bones and muscles are feeling it!!!!! I am just glad we are finally getting some decent flower planting weather here. Have a great week end my friend.

I love window boxes, Debbie! Yours look great and just wait until they tumble over the sides. My daughter just got two to add to her front living room windows and I told her I want to plant them! I saw some beautiful examples in a magazine the other day. She’s a beginning gardener so she was all for me doing them.

I have never done window boxes, but they sure look pretty on your house. I would likely forget to water them.
Your Japanese Maple tree is just beautiful.

Hey Debbie! I just got my first window box too. Like Mike, I was hesitant to drill in the brick. I actually still have to install the box. Mine is in a shaded spot so I got impatiens to fill it. I LOVE the jasmine that you planted between the windows. It’s gorgeous. I just planted some in my backyard. Can’t wait for it to mature.
Your japanese maple is so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your south garden.

They looks so pretty Debbie! I’ve never had window boxes but do think they add so much charm to a house!
Blessings,

I LOVE window boxes!…Yours are just gorgeous and enjoyed seeing all of the other examples…We have been saying that we are going to place window boxes under our front windows, but one of those things you do not get around to…so this has given me great inspiration to just do it!…

petunias, good to know! they look great so far. i finally have one on my garage that the boyfriend built, and i can’t wait to fill it. i wanted to use sweet potato vine, but i think i have to go to a nursery to get that.

Debbie your home is so gorgeous! I love the brick and all of your landscaping is just beautiful. And the window boxes are like icing on the cake! I’m really feeling like I need to add some kind of window boxes…hmmm…choices. THANKS!
