Well, well, I wasted no time getting to this vintage lamp I scored at Goodwill the other day.
You remember it?
It certainly had potential for $3.99.
I knew it would go in our bedroom on the dresser.
I cleaned it up real good and decided it needed a little paint lift.
First, let me mention that Cane lampshades must be the in thing.
Horchow is selling this little Cane lampshade for
$275.00!
Yeah, right, I don’t think so people!
So let me show you what I did……
The shade was a little wonky so I decided I would add a touch of burlap on two of the panels.
Of course a little flower embellishment!
This little burlap banner came off my pool noodle wreath!
I also trimmed it out on two sides with some french bumble bee ribbon.
I love this little lamp and it is a perfect addition to our Master bedroom!
Thanks for stopping over today. If you are not a regular, I sure would love to see you back again.
Wow. That turned out darling. I love how you’ll rob a past project too! That is so cool 🙂 The lampshade must be worth… what? $199 now. LOL!!!! Really? $250 for a lampshade. Who buys that stuff?
Looks darling in your room. Good job girl!!

Just as cute as can be. I sure will keep my eyes open for a lamp to redo…I need one in my bedroom, too.

Wow, love the new look. That lampshade is awesome. Now I have to search my GW for one!
Very pretty, Debbie! Love the new color and the addition of the flower to the shade dresses it up nicely. Great find for $3.99!

OMG-Now I KNOW I am OLD! I had that lamp (and a matching pendant fixture) in the little girl’s room in…READY FOR THIS….1978! I had wicker headboards and yellow and white bedding for them. They were ages 1 & 2. LOVE your makeover- xo Diana
Too sweet Debbie. Joe and I redo lamps and sell them weekly. CC may go to college a semester on lamps and I am not kidding. Lamps in stores are off the chain expensive just as you so well illustrated. Olive
Debbie, it’s darling! If there’s anybody out there who would pay $275 for a lamp shade, I definitely don’t have them in my company. That’s my car payment! What you did is super cute; I especially like the little banner embellishment. In other news, Dan’s makin’ spaghetti sauce today… the kitchen’s a wreck… Hope you’re having a great summer!
I had those lamps in the 80″s , I love what you did with this one, looks whimsical and fresh!
From frog to prince!!! Great job!!
XO Kris
I love me a good lamp re-do. Nicely done!

No way! No way! I love it, Debbie. Adding the burlap to the shade was the perfect touch.
Love how it turned out Debbie.
Yep, I’ve been noticing more and more cane lampshades. Yours turned out great!
Attention Mr. Horchow,
We’re not falling for it. You see what the chick in blue can do with a $3.99 lamp from a thriftstore?
~Bliss~
This is so pretty & the work you did is gorgeous..All some job on this one….Cookie17
Look at your cute little bargain lamp. You always dress them up well. I have been crazy busy with Leila today and just now able to visit blogs.
You are truly awesome. I can’t say that enough.
Too cute! $275 for a shade is crazy! I wouldn’t pay that for a whole lamp!
When I saw you standing in the store with it, I thought, oh no, whatever can she do with that? But you surprised me but good! You made it beautiful with your creativity! {Who on earth can spend nearly $300 on a lamp shade, I ask you?}
Brenda
Crazy, I know, but there are people who will pay that! Thanks for stopping by Brenda!
Debbie, I love it! it was a great find! Of course I think the flower made it…..Goodness a flower, soon you will be coming over to the dark side……Fluffy, pink, lacy, romantic LOL!
Carol

Fantastic makeover, Debbie. This really has personality now!

Wow, what a transformation. You have a good eye. Love the paint. And the flower. You should open your own shop. Trash to treasures.
As aways … you take something that I say “Oh yuck, really Debbie?” ad turn it into something wonderful! YOu have a gift!!!
Hugs,
Bj
