Updating your home decor.
Sometimes, it can be your lucky day when you are a hoarder.
WHAT…………..
you don’t hoard your decor?
Well, I do,
and I say I have no closet space.
mmm hmmm…I do have plenty, I just don’t like to get rid of much.
Today, was my lucky day.
I found a roo in the closet that I have had for years.
He is just a cheopo plastic resin one that I believe I picked up at a thrift store some time ago.
Certainly nothing wrong with this good looking fellow.
He just needed a little sprucing up.
My kinda color right here.
Bright, cheery and just perfect for Spring and Summer.
After I painted him and let him dry for an hour or two. He then got a
coat of dark wax, and lightly distressed look.
He feels refreshed and ready!
In a happy little corner of our Country Kitchen.
Thank for stopping by today.

Love it Debbie. Such an nice Spring decoration with the pretty tulips. I have several roosters, but need one that I can paint.

It’s amazing the difference a coat of paint can make! Now, he looks very hip.
I hoard stuff too. I have a closet for just such a purpose, and it’s getting kind of overgrown these days. I need to pull something out for craft therapy.

Strange how much better his tail stands out with the green.
He looks fabulous now in that pretty green! You’ve sparked an idea for me!
Love the new look it is the perfect green:)
Love the rooster! And the color is lovely! But, I beg your pardon but we are NOT hoarders! We are recyclers, up-cycles, restorers, saving the world from trash, treasure finders, historians, preservers of vintage ….I can go on, but I’ll stop……LOL
Gosh he is just too adorable. I love him & the color is perfect.
Love the green. Fresh and bright and cheery!
Great color, Debbie! And a nice way to update our existing home decor. I’ve been thinking about checking out that paint that Shannon carries. I’ll have to contact her and see if there are sample sizes available to purchase.

She sure does Janet! Hop on over.
What kind of wax?
I used Annie Sloan wax but there are other brands such as minwax sold at Home dept and Lowes.
Wow this was perfect posting timing. I have a rooster & 2 hens that I didn’t know if I was gong to keep. Repainted the kitchen & they just fade into the wall color now, but I really like them. Now I will just paint & wax them. Thanks again
Great, you will love their new updated look!
Debbie
I never would have thought of a green Roo, but I love how he turned out!
I could see him in many vignettes.
Your roaster is adorable – what a fabulous idea to give him a whole new look – I must say I prefer him green.
