Don’t you just LOVE summer?
I know I do!
When everything is so green and colorful. This summer I went a little crazy with the color fun on the front porch.
You remember the garden table that was in our entry way?
I mentioned a time or two or three, it needed to be outdoors.
It got a new fresh coat of Bahaus gold spray paint, by Krylon.
Honestly, I did not do a great job on this.
I did not want it to be perfect.
Hopefully over time it will start getting rusty and chippy, as that is what I would like for it to do.
I had to paint some terra cotta pots with Annie Sloans Antibes green.
I made a vintage paper flower, and tied some twine on the other pots just for a little something something.
It ties in with my pool noodle wreath which you will be seeing shortly.
Lots of fun funky color out here!
We have another project in the making this Summer which I am so excited about.
It has to do with the front porch and Southern tradition.
My picnic basket garden planter is holding up well.
I have not killed the ferns yet.
This mod podged pot I did around two years ago.
Been holding up good as well.
A little faded but not too bad.
And there you have my colorful Summer porch!
Mike and I actually enjoy sitting out here and rockin on the chairs and just chit chatting.
I have fond memories of when we first moved in and our boys would be running across the lawn catching fireflies.
They had never seen them before moving to the Carolina’s. It was so fun to watch and bring back memories of my own, and catching fireflies. Of course, I used to try to make a pretty ring out of those poor little flies.
Have a great day!
Poppy

Oh, I love it. It’s so festive and colorful! I’m currently working on my noodle wreath. I sure hope it isn’t too stupid a mess to hang on the front door or show abroad in Blog Land. I’m so glad for the inspiration.

You forgot another “C” word… cozy!!!!!!! What a great place to sit and chit chat. Tom and I love to sit on the porch and talk. It is so comforting. We didn’t see a lot of lightning bugs in South Carolina, but at my parents’ house in Tennessee it is crazy. There are so many that the trees look like Christmas trees! I used to put them in a jar and watch them when I went to bed. That is so summer to me!
Raw Thoughts And Feelings
I do love the look and feel of your porch, Debbie! It is so inviting, spring looking, and pretty decoration!

I love all the little details on your colorful porch. Especially the Chicken with the sun hat, which did not get a mention! If you walk out your door and find a tall blonde in one of your Rocking Chairs reading a book, don’t be alarmed, that is just me. I couldn’t help myself, it looks so comfy and inviting there!

Cuuuuuute!
I *love* the picnic basket with the seed packet garland…..so fun!!

It looks wonderful Debbie! I wish I had a porch but my back deck will have to do! Your table looks great and with a few rains it will probably rust up for you as you want! The ferns in the picnic basket are cute! The wreath looks fun!
Jane @ Cottage at the Crossroads
Your table looks terrific on your porch. It gives you such a great space to place you pots and plants. By the way, those terracotta pots painted in Antibes Green are fabulous. I caught a view of your noodle wreath. I’m guessing that it has a monogram on it which is so Southern!
Kelly
Love your porch! Yes I adore my porch too……
Your terracotta pots are so cute and perfect for your table that you just painted.
Linda @ Itsy Bits And Pieces

I love all the color Debbie! Your porch is looking so alive. I definitely love the iron table outside now too. It really is perfect out there. I like the basket with ferns but really love how you have given us an update on how things are holding up. That’s the problem I face before putting anything out, I agonize over how it will weather outside. You have done another beautiful job and cannot wait to hear more about your project. HMmm????

Debbie, you just exude hospitality. Honestly, it’s like it just comes out of your pores! I think it makes sense for your front porch to be colorful–you have a colorful, fun personality, and shouldn’t the first thing your guests see be a reflection of your spirit?
I love that cross wall hanging. And I love the fact that you have it right on your front porch. 🙂
