Happy Fall everyone!
Shanna here from Restoration Redooux, sharing the big brown nasty.
Actually, it’s just a very outdated buffet.
Not so nasty anymore outdated buffet makeover.
This week it has finally dropped down into the 70’s for highs here in Kansas! I can’t wait for the leaves to start changing!
My favorite thing about fall has to be Halloween. We pull out all of the stops for Halloween. We add a new light-up decoration to our outdoor display every year. The neighborhood kids can’t wait for dusk the day we put up all of our lights.
Here’s a peek of some of our indoor decorations from last year
One thing I don’t like about fall is that it means an end to yard sales. I try to stock up on furniture pieces before it gets cold, and this is one of my latest scores.
I know it’s a big, brown, nasty beast here, but I knew it has potential. I’ve painted a few of these in the past and am always surprised at how pretty they are once they get a coat of paint.
First I cleaned all of the years of filth off of it, going along all of the grooves with q-tips.
I then painted the bottom with two coats of Plaster Paint in Seaside, and I painted the top in Espresso Plaster Paint.
I then coated it in Plaster Paint’s Paste Wax and buffed it off.
I repainted the hardware with Antique Gold spray paint.
Viola! Here is the after! I think it would be a great dresser or tv console.
