Growing up in Buffalo, New York most of my life, it was nothing to hop in the car on a Sunday and head on over to Canada for the day. We were just that close and going over the border was not so bad. Of course now, laws have changed and you need a passport or enhanced license.
Seeing the Falls in Canada is an amazing site to see. I have always known there is an American side to the Falls, however, we have never been.
We decided, it was a great time to do so. SIMPLY an AWESOME day, that I would recommend anyone to do if you are in the area.
Little did we know we were going on an amazing little adventure, and YES, we were quite fashionable. We definitely are a silly family, and dressing in these poncho’s just brought it out even more so.
Never heard of this tour, but it was reasonable at 11.00 per adult and 8.00 for kids. |
When I tell you there were hundreds of seagulls ( I think that is what this is) there were hundreds plus. Just beautiful! |
If you look closely you can see them from a far. |
Skylon tower, this is from the American side. |
Famous Maid of the mist. I am too chicken to do this. You should see how close it comes to the Falls. Maybe next time. |
Alex looking up at amazement…this was so much fun. We actually saw a double rainbow. I could not get pictures as we were getting soaked. |
This is what Alex was looking up at. |
That is my sis and her boyfriend and his daughter. I took this picture from above, as someone else was taking their picture. |
Thank you all so much for coming along our two week vacation with us. We sure packed in a lot of sites and food. I have more fun famous food places to share. However, first I must lose a few vacation pounds.
We are heading home now.
I sure will miss my Mom and sissie.
I am looking forward to catching up on all my blogging friends. I have to get some creative juices flowing too.

OH MY GOODNESS… pretty much my father’s entire family from Buffalo, NY and I spent many many trips going over to Niagra Falls when we were up there visiting; which was many times a year as we drove up from outside of Cleveland where my Dad moved to work for Plain Dealer. Dad’s family lived on Rugby Road, not far from the zoo. I spent my honeymoon at Niagra Falls (1st time around) and visited my grandparents too in Buffalo. Still have many relatives left in the area. I don’t get up there much anymore but sure do love the area.

I am from Buffalo too. I left after the Blizzard of ’77. I come back about once a year. My son likes going back to see relatives. He just went back for his 4th anniversary. They spent the first night in Niagara Falls. They went on Maid of the Mist with the red ponchos. His wife had never been to Buffalo except in the winter. Then they went to the Bills’ home opener. They got to tailgate with their cousins and uncles. He loves Ted’s, Anderson’s and Anchor Bar. they went to the zoo too.
When I saw your son with his Bills’ shirt I knew you had to be from Buffalo.
I have been in California since I moved.

Hi Sandy! Yep we are original Buffalonians. Love all the places you just mentioned. They are all our go-to’s when going back home! Duffs is good too! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your little story.

Also, we had our senior prom at the Skylon, back when it was easy to go to Canada.
