Hi there!
Today, I decided I would make a little memory crate of Ireland with Mod podge for our son Alex to have as a keepsake.
In fact, he can take it off to college in a few years and try to keep organized!
Now that’s a joke.
I do worry about that boy, but as he has reminded me time and time again, he always gets er done!
On time, and with good grades. I do remind him though that one day, he is going to be in a pinch, of course, he is snotty and says, has not happened yet Mom!
but he is a complete mess as far as organization goes.
Anyhow…
I had this little crate I scored a few years back from Goodwill for a buck I believe
I took some of the duplicate travel guides, and maps from our Ireland trip and cut them to size the crate
{St. Patrick’s Cathedral}
{Kilkenny Castle}
Mod podged on!
And there you have a memory crate to last a life time…
and to be organized.
I put his photo album, band metals and certificates all in on place.
Something he can turn and smile at each night before going to sleep.
thanks for stopping over today.
Alex noticed it first thing when he walked in his room.
He actually said it was something he will keep forever.
What a wonderful keepsake! And I love that your son said he’d keep it forever! Who could ask for more than that?
I love this idea great for Alex I know he will cherish it for ever did you put our photo somewhere lol
Of course Mom, it is in the photo album:)
Oh we dream of visiting Europe with the kids one day, I love how you captured your memories with such a cool little crate! Thank you fora great idea 🙂

What a great keepsake! Great job! I understand how you feel about your son….mine is the same way! Fortunately, as mine has aged he’s realized how important organization is….yours will too, I’m sure! Hope you have a fantastic day!!~~Angela
Very cute way to display and remember that wonderful trip to Ireland.

What a great idea. It’s like having a photo album open all the time. And I bet you love to look in his room and see an organized area! My son was a mess when he lived at home… now that he has his own home, he is over-the-top tidy! See, there is still hope!
Super idea and great memories I’m sure!
My boys are messy too Debbie 🙂
That’s so sweet that he said that – you know how boys are! What a great memory AND memory holder! 🙂
This honestly gets me a little choked up! Such a nice keepsake.
Oh Debbie how sweet is your son to say he will keep that forever!!! What a wonderful compliment to you of what a great kid you are raising. That crate is amazing and it will have long memories attached. So sweet loved this post. Give that son a big hug!!!! What a sweetheart.

Fantastic idea! Would be great for kids to do as well! Hugs, Leena
Debbie, Now, THAT is a keepsake! The response from Alex is a keepsake for you as well. It turned out really well, neat idea.
Love ya girl,
Ginger
What a fabulous idea and what an awesome response from your son! Very sweet!
Fantastic idea and I love the way it turned out!
Well Debbie, this post made me tear up. This is such a special keepsake memory for your son, and it will mean more as time goes on since it was made by a very special mom. Great job – I love it. Peggy
Wow! Debbie, that was fast. Our 3 week “Dream Trip” of Germany, Austria, and Prague was nearly 3 years ago and I don’t have my memories written down. Unless we can count the trip itinerary, that our friend set up. Photos galore…I need to write some notes, before it all runs together.
Thanks for the fun read,
Helen
Thanks everyone!~XO
That is a great idea! I love that you used some of the travel guides too! Very clever, and stylish!
I Love it!! Every time you walk by you can remember your trip.
Thank You
Lisa
