Don’t ask me how I got on this kick of making soy candles in mason jars.
Actually, I will tell you the truth.
I had a dream about it the other night and I woke up and said
I need to try that.
So
I did.
I invited a few friends over
cracked open a bottle of wine
and we got busy.
I took a trip to hobby lobby and bought all my supplies.
I bought these cute tags and used a stamper of Spring words.
and of course a rooster stamp.
This was my sample candle and we did not have enough soy to fill it, but perfect for my own sampler:)
This again, was on a whim.
The pictures I took in the evening are terrible
but the after as you can see are so pretty.
I have my sampler burning right now, and so far so good.
I need a tester though, so I am offering a giveaway to my readers to be my official tester.
If you win, I would love the feedback.
I added some sparkle too for you.
I really enjoyed the process and would like to make more to sell, if I think they are good enough.
These are 100 % soy which burns beautifully, and leaves no black soot around the jar.
UPDATE: I wound up keeping them all and giving them away as gifts.
You can see all the soy candles I made and a tutorial on how to make soy candles here.

That is neat….they look pretty. Soy is supposed to burn slower? correct? I am sure they are perfect and the mason jar is adorable.

Yes burn slower, cleaner and natural:)

I haven’t visited here in so long Debbie! I don’t know why but on my blogroll, yours never shows up with a picture so I end up flying right by it when blog visiting. The candle you made is so pretty! I remember in 5th grade we made candles, they were so ugly:) I’ll have to try my hand at this one of these days! Hope you’re doing well!

Very interesting. I had no idea you could use soy to make candles.

Hey Debbie~ I was a Target today, and saw soy candles in a mason jar!! Your post reminded me of that.
I thought I’d stop in, and say “hello”.
Hope you are well, girl!
Your candle looks great, and so do the tags!! Gardenia is one of my favorite scents.
Happy Sunday.

I’ve made candles before (years ago) but have never tried to make soy candles. They sure are popular right now! I love the way yours turned out, and I really love the tags you made to go with them!! So cute…and soooo you!

This is so cute! You could SO sell these! I used to make candles with crayons and milk cartons. This reminds me of that time as a young girl. Love it!

Hello. I’ve been wanting to venture into a small business for awhile and this week I experienced the epiphany of making scented soy candles. I enjoy lighting candles in my home and today it just came to me from nowhere. I’ve prayed on it and I have a name. I’m going to do my research. Wish me luck.
