I promise, I am not skipping over fall. However, this project is what I am calling the midnight special.
“Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me,
Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me,
Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me,
Let the Midnight Special shine a ever lovin’ light on me.”
You know the tune. I couldn’t sleep the other evening and I wanted to relax my mind. I think the reason I was having trouble sleeping is because I drank way too much coffee that day. That was the day we were going to help organize our son in his new apartment. Believe me, I need the energy.
Anyhow, blah, blah, blah. So I found some Christmas fabric I had on hand. I had about ½ yard of Christmas ornament fabric and plain white fabric. I decided on a whim I would make a Christmas door hanger. This could easily be hung on a wall as well.
Sadly, I am going to have to give you only the verbal how to on this project. Like I said, it was a midnight special. My camera was in the bedroom and I didn’t want to disturb my husband.
It’s so simple though, I am sure you will get the gist.

Supplies needed:
Debbiedoo’s stencil info HERE
½ yard of Christmas fabric
½ yard of plain white fabric
ribbon of choice
First I cut the two pieces of material to 21 inches long by 15 inches wide. Honestly, I could have made it smaller but that’s what I wound up with.
I hot glued the two pieces of material together only on the top and the bottom. The reason I even used the piece behind is because my material was so thin. If your material is thicker, you may skip that part. However, please be sure to put something under your fabric when stenciling to avoid bleed through.
I stuck a piece of cardboard in between the fabric and placed my stencil in the center on the top printed Christmas material. Stenciled my pattern and let dry for a few minutes.
I then hot glued the checked ribbon along each long side of my wall hanging just to achieve that nice clean almost sewn look. If you can sew, this of course would be even better. You can belt these wall hangings out in no time.
I hot glued a spoon on top, and then on the bottom facing the opposite way as shown.
Merry flippen’ Christmas! In less than an hour! These would make such awesome gifts. I am definitly thinking y’all need to “CRAFT your Christmas” this year!
In fact, this is going to be gifted to a dear friend of mine. Hope she doesn’t see it:)
I promise, onto fall next friends!
