Seriously, if you would have told me a year ago,
You will be decorating with duck tape before your know it.
Bhaaaaaaaaaa…I would have laughed in your face.
My only experience with duck tape, is for the kids mouth’s….
ha, just kidding, but seriously, here is a quick funny and then I will share my
how to make rosettes with duck tape and jazz up a can.
So we are on our family adventure of moving from South Florida to the Carolina’s.
Moving truck was in motion and we had quite a bit of over flow we had to stick in our SUV and on top of the SUV.
Things were flapping and pretty much driving us crazy.
It was an 11 hour drive and we knew we could not take it.
Duck tape will do the trick.
So Mike stops in a back road gas station,
picks up an energy drink
and a roll of duck tape.
Lady behind the counter, looks him up and down and all around,
I believe Mike said she had no teeth….or maybe summer teeth, some are some are there.
she looks up at him.. {Mike is 6’5} and says in a very gruff Southern drawl…
“looks like somebody’s gonna have a good time tonight”
Now what that means,
we still don’t know
LOL!
Onto my cute little rosettes……and cans.
To make the rosettes all you do is cut a strip of duck tape
around 12 inches or so.
Fold over as shown
Cut slits across as shown but be careful not to cut too close to the end, it will easily snip off and you have to start over again.
In fact, this tutorial I am giving you is the
same tutorial
for
After you made your slits
start rolling as shown.
I used a sliver of duck tape to close together at the end of the rosette.
Pretty cute duck tape rosettes.
I am also loving all the fun colorful patterns duck tape comes in these days,
seems to be all the rage right now.
It was so simple to wrap my cans in duck tape and make for a cute
summer Tropical table scape.
Of course, I need to throw a party now.
I am betting that will not be hard to do.
Very fun, easy and inexpensive.

The rosettes are adorable! I want to party now!

Super cute, Debbie. I can’t believe how the Duck Tape line has grown and evolved. I have never seen that turquoise tape…I need to expand my vision beyond the paint aisle at Ace Hardware.
Debbie
Hi Deb! This is super cute! I have seen a lot of different colors of tape in the stores! I had to laugh at your comment that the lady said when Mike bought the tape. I asked hubby what he thought. Well, you could interpret it two ways. Mike would be busy fixing things with duck tape, or maybe tying someone up for some fun! wink – wink 😉

Cute idea Debbie … actually, I hate duck tape, well, the gray kind anyway. Duck tape is now in such lovely patterns and designs, I could learn to love it. I do have red and use it all the time. Thanks for the inspiration.

hahaha funny story Debbie! 🙂
cute cans and flowers!
I’ve never made any rosettes… not sure why, cause they are so darn cute. I’d be more likely to make them out of duck tape than fabric.
pinning!
