Drum shade for a ceiling fan!
Whomever came up with idea first, I think you are pretty smart. I have seen it many times, and thought I really need to try that.
For
one, it is less costly than replacing the ceiling fan and for two, I believe our ceilings fan serve a purpose.
We need to circulate that air on occasion.
I started with a simple Better homes and gardens lampshade purchased at Walmart for around $10.00.
I liked the color, texture and trim. I, however knew it had to be the Debbiedoodized with some stenciling and embellishments.
Easy to stencil on fabric…told you that time and time again, really little room for error on fabric.
I used picture wire hanger to add to the center of the lampshade, and then lightly hung it on the screws of the fan where the lights shades were.
I whipped this out pretty fast, so I do have to tweak it some to center it. But no big deal, when I get out the ladder again, I will adjust that.
In each center of the flower I added a different color button to compliment with the room.
HA, in this picture you can really see how off center I am…I am going down now to fix that:)
What a great impact this made!
Would love if you followed me around!
