Hey there everyone! Tis the dollar tree season for me.
I love to make crafts from the dollar tree this time of year.
It’s a lot of fun, cheap and very rewarding.
Last year I shared my Dollar tree ambiance candle and I had so many inquiries on how I did it. I mention how I did it, but a visual would be better. I am getting better at this blogging gig as I go along each year.
Start off with glass votives of choice. I liked these little round fish bowl types with the tulip lip on top.
Pretty for a dollar each. Tissue paper of choice, ribbon and mod podge.
I cut my tissue paper in strips some wider than others. I first mod podge a section of the votive vase at a time.
I adhere the mod podge lightly and paint over it. I continue that until completely covered. Do be careful and light handed with your brush strokes as the tissue paper will tear. No worries though, just go over it or apply another layer of tissue paper over the tear. You will never know it.
Embellish your votive to your liking…and that is that!
There is a peek of ambiance for you. I put a tea light in it. You can also use the flickering candles has the same effect.
Don’t forget to mark you calendars for the big day!

Very cute Debbie, they could be used as candy bowls too.

Love this idea and may have to try it out…. I don’t care much for the holidays but I can always give them to relatives that do…. ; )

Daniela @frugal ain't cheap
super cute idea! I bet it would look cool as a grouping with different size vases
Debbie
Love it and have already thought of an added bonus to this. I have reallly hard water, and it doesn’t take long for my cheap vases to get so cloudy that I don’t want to use them anymore. What a WONDERFUL way to bring life back to them, huh?

Love these, Debbie! Looks so pretty with the tea light in them.
