Boho Chic Guest Bedroom
Hi there friends! I hope you are all doing well these days. If you recall from my last post on the Fall Porch HERE, I mentioned my purging binge. Well, I am here to happily tell you it is continuing and boy does it feel great.
I was telling my husband the other day that I feel ashamed of myself in a way. All the collecting, craft supplies, paints, pillows, rugs, etc. all really got out of hand throughout the years. Of course, most of my motivation and collecting has been due to this little ole’ blog. That’s what he reminded me of. He said you shared a lot of great ideas for folks and he said he’s sure they were enjoyed. I felt a bit better after that conversation.
This burlap print and frame we found at a thrift shop some years back. It would be quite simple to make. Grab a half a yard or so of burlap and a sharpie. I don’t have nice writing so could never achieve this look. That’s why stencils are my friend. After you create your burlap art, find an old frame and staple or hot glue it to the back of the frame. The frame can be open or with glass.
Today is all about the guest room. This room was a major purge. From changing out the comforter alone to cleaning out the closet. This is my Mom’s room when she comes to visit. I think every year she would get slightly annoyed at the closet. She didn’t have much room to hang her clothes or even tuck away her suitcase. She will now:)
This has always been her favorite blanket. I found it at Home Goods a few years back. It is unique and seems to go with any style decor. As you can see from the title I am calling the room Boho Chic. I really love the BOHO look and if you check out our condo HERE, you can see the flair we brought to it with Boho and Mid Century Modern.
The Boho style coverlet I found on Amazon, along with the yellow pillow covers. I will always move forward simply to buy pillow covers. I don’t know why I wasn’t for all these years. You live and learn I suppose. The pillow with the tassels came from Walmart, along with the curtain panels. The panels were 11.97 for a set of two. You can’t beat that.
As you can tell I didn’t go all matchy matchy in the room. That’s never been my style and I love to mix up and match patterns. I think it adds interest, along with texture and also reflects your personal style.
The runner also came from and Amazon. I actually had it in the kitchen but decided I like it next to the bed. It’s comfy when stepping out of bed onto a rug rather than the hardwood floors.
The lamp I have had for a while and stenciled the shade to add a little extra style to it. Stenciling touches always seem to work for me and if you have been around for awhile, you know I am sort of known as the QUEEN of it HA. You can check out my stencil gallery HERE.
I hope you enjoyed my little BOHO chic guestroom mini makeover.
