Before and After Condo remodel
Hi there friends! It’s been a little bit since I last touched base with you. Today I am revealing the before and after condo remodel.
I will start with the before photos. In case you missed part 1 of the Empty nest journey, you can catch up HERE.
With every story of home renovations, you have the good, the bad and the ugly. Today I choose the good. There have been many ugly moments in the process. Not only because of the mess and clean up, that part was expected.
It was most to do with the work that was contracted out by Lowe’s Home Improvement. Apparently Lowe’s no longer has their in house contractors. For over 20 years I have been a loyal customer to Lowe’s. I am not so certain I could recommend them anymore for home improvement projects. Some of the contractors on this job were fabulous, while a few others were not so fabulous.
For example the back splash installer. He did a very good job of the install. However, his attitude on the job was the pits. He huffed and puffed and stomped around the entire time. Quite uncomfortable to be in his presence. Clearly a man who hates his job. NOT my problem.
In the end it looks beautiful and I have already forgotten how uncomfortable that day was for me:) I choose happy now.
As you can see I chose brass accents and this retro faucet. I am loving the brass hardware and touch of class it adds.
Now onto the living area. We had all the carpets removed from the living areas and bedrooms. I don’t have shots of the bedrooms yet. Things are still a little chaotic with me getting things back in order.
The before is quite outdated. This was a fun space to transition. With all our thrifty finds, and thrills of our hunts we absolutely love the space. What a huge difference alone removing the carpet and replacing it with the weathered oak pergo flooring. That too is another story with the contractor. I am skipping right over that debacle of a story.
The entire space feels brighter, cleaner and more spacious.
And yes, even our little Lucy girl feels the same way.
This weekend in fact, we have our first condo guests. It feels nice to entertain and enjoy what was intended for our home away from home.
I even got to cook for the first time in our new kitchen space.
And of course Lucy enjoyed the smell and hoped for just a taste! Hope you enjoyed the little snips of our before and after condo remodel. Catch up on Part 2 HERE, Part 3 HERE.
I give more details on our choices. Some have changed a bit since our initial. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you are inspired to stay a while.

Thank you Marty so much!

I love it! It looks fantastic. The dark pergola floors made a big difference I think.

They did for sure! They actually look darker in these photos, probably because I took them with my cell phone. But regardless they are fantastic.

Love!! The dresser in the master, I believe is a 1947 era as it is close to what my parent’s had. I would never paint it either….

Oh that’s great to know the era.We sort of thought so, but were not sure. NO paint to this piece, EVER.Thanks Jeanie.
