Retro Groovy 70’s Flower Power Office/Guest Room
Hello there friends!
I hope you are feeling the touch of fall wherever you are. We are starting to, and I absolutely love it. It has always been my favorite season. Although, I probably won’t be going all out like I used to. I will of course add a touch here and a touch there.
Today I want to share the final reveal of my retro groovy 70’s flower power office/guest room. This room used to be the boy’s game room, and then it was converted to a craft room, and now it is officially my office space. It may be used as a guest room as well.
This is what it used to look like back in the day.
This was used as my craft room for a few years. I really enjoyed many of my crafting days in this space. This next photo is way back when I first started transitioning the space. The boys had grown out of video gaming so I wanted to make it just a simple little sitting room. I don’t think this lasted for very long before I officially made it to the craft room.
Now to today’s current look which I do believe will be around for a long while. Probably as long as we live in this house.
A fresh paint job was the first step. A few weeks ago I shared a peek of our master and guest room HERE. We really love the color and it ties in well with the rest of the decor in our home. I always like the rooms to flow from one another without being too matchy-matchy.
I bought this cute little Mid Century Modern Chair off of Amazon. The price was right and I was even able to put it together myself in no time at all. That is always a bonus when I get it right. I have been known to put things together backward. The worse DIY I did was when we were first married. It was a small Sauder TV stand. BOY did I mess that one up! HA!! Armen Living Phoebe Dining Chair in Orange Fabric and Walnut Wood FinishBefore I started this room makeover I created a little mood board of everything I liked. That was simple considering I designed these goods for my Mid Century Modern Gal Etsy Shop HERE. I changed a few things up in the end and was happy with my final decision.
The pillows are fun, and a great fabric that is easy to clean. They are zippered so I can easily remove the covers and launder them when need be. I used three different variation patterns for this pillow. The groovy flowers, breeze block, and just a hint of an orange tie in with my Retro Atomic Cat canvas I created.
I have a little texture added to the floor with a Breeze Block Patterned Rug.
Put it all together and this was my final look!
I really enjoy going to this space each morning and being able to look out a window. Maybe I am just nosey too, I like seeing the neighbors walking by with their dogs. I am not sure if I ever told you all, but we had to say goodbye to our beloved Pug Lucy. She was 15 years old and her time had come. We miss her like crazy and I think come October we will be looking for another fur baby addition to the family. Lucy will never be replaced but we have lots of love to give another dog. Stay tuned for that. I have a few breeds I am drawn to. ONE thing I can’t or won’t have again is a shedder. There aren’t many breeds that don’t shed. If you have any favorites feel free to leave a comment. We are wide open to suggestions.
I hope you enjoyed my mini-makeover

I LOVE your room! All those beautiful colors make me smile!

Schnauzers do not shed. The breed is hypoallergenic as well. Our 16 year old miniature named Lady Day just recently died. This breed is quite healthy. Extremely sweet natured. Very loving & loyal. Great with kids. Excellent guard dog. But we did teach her not to yap constantly. Other than monthly grooming, annual vet check ups & her preventative monthly meds we spent very little on her at the veterinarian due to an illness. You would be exceptionally pleased. We will be getting another one.
