Dollar Tree Wood Snowflake makeover
Hi there friends! Moving right along here on my Dollar Tree Wood cutout makeovers! If you missed my first Dollar tree ornament wood cutout makeover, you can check that out HERE.
For today’s snowflake you will need a cocktail napkin, Mod Podge, craft paint and either fabric, or twine to finish it off for a clean look. I always say make it your own, and hopefully I gave you some inspiration.
I have been really enjoying these makeovers.
Crafting has always been my therapy, and let’s face it, cheaper than therapy. Although that can be debatable:). That’s why I always choose Dollar Tree. Choose, joy, kindness and the Dollar tree. You can’t go wrong.
First I painted the snowflake in a pretty metallic gold. I use a sponge brush to avoid brush strokes. Remember I mentioned in my last post I am using these at the Condo so I am going for the look and vibe we have going on here.
I just love the cuteness of this cocktail napkin. I found these at Tuesday Morning. However, Dollar tree, Marshall’s, even Walmart will have cute cocktails napkins, I’m sure. Use what you like and are drawn to.
Once the snowflake was completely dry I was ready to go in with my Mod Podge. I cut the napkin in the half as shown, then lightly painted on the Mod Podge on the back of the napkin and adhered it to the plaque. I went over it with my fingers to get rid of any bubbles and more Mod Podge. I let that dry for about 5 hours or so. Then I trimmed up some fabric I had from my previous ornament and finished off the bottom, top and sides to look neater. And remember, it does NOT have to be perfect. I am perfectly imperfect, and OK with that!!
Dollar Tree Wood Snowflake and Ornament makeovers
I have one last Dollar tree Cutout ornament to do. Mr. Gingerbread man. I have some ideas swirling around in my head. We shall see what he brings.
I have more ideas on where I plan on hanging these cuties around the Condo. I have time though. Let’s get through Thanksgiving first. The ideas must come early, but the actual decorating will come after Thanksgiving.
Pin it, make it enjoy!
