Transitioning decor from Christmas to winter
Howdy there folks! Since all the Christmas decor has been put away I don’t think we can simply ignore old man winter. It’s part of our 4 seasons and we must embrace it the best we can. Before we scurry on over to Valentine’s day, I wanted to share some simple Winter decorating ideas in our family room.
I am sharing how I transitioned decorating from Christmas to Winter.
It was really quite simple and I had all the decor I needed. Some of the decorations from our Christmas mantel actually stayed put.
I tell ya, I am loving my winter kitchen decor. Even though it’s not that wintery. I have a feeling it will stay like this for quite some time. It really just brightens and cheers things up around here.

As you can see I made a winter home sweet home sign for the mantel.
Dollar tree snowflakes and pine cone garland set the tone for winter.
Decorating with ice skates is always fun for the season. My Mom found these at a thrift shop years ago. I bring them out every season.
That’s about all I can say for old man winter. BOOOOO, go away soon please.
Pine cones and winter greens, even if faux are a simple way to incorporate the winter season.
I shared back a few weeks ago how I made my winter pine cones HERE.

I will use them year after year for decorating during Christmas and the winter season. Those are little dollar tree cardinals and pine cones you see there as well. DIY SNOWY PINECONES project HERE
Can you see my little Lucy there in the foreshadow? She was waiting for me to be finished up taking photos because apparently I was distracting her from laying on her doggie bed.
More winter greenery and my recent Home is where heart is plaster of paris sign. Thinking during Valentines I can add a bit of red to perhaps the rooster.
Alright Lucy, go lay down now, Mom’s all done.
Thank you so much for visiting with me today.
Hope you enjoyed Transitioning decor Christmas to Winter
If you are new here, welcome! I am also very excited to share new stencil lines with you.

Your winter decor is lovely, Debbie…and Lucy is adorable!

I have a girl beagle named Bailey. Looks like Lucy is loved a little too much like mine—extra pounds around the middle!!! Lucy is adorable. I love it when bloggers show their animals in some of their pictures. It always makes me smile.

Aww..I love Beagles too. We love all animals. I think our younger son wants to be a Vet. He is amazing with animals and little kids too. He has a soft heart. Pugs tend to get that menopause belly too LOL.
Marty Oravetz
I love your fireplace, so pretty and those skates. Love, love.

Thanks Marty! They are a fave of mine as well.

Very nice! I do white, silver and snow flakes for my winter mantel. I’ll be ready for Valentine’s Day and more color soon but for now it’s calming and fresh looking.
