We will have one specific room of our homes that we share a diy accomplished. I admit, most of our big Diy’s have been done by the hands of my husband. I have helped though. Most of the time, it was my bright idea. Ask him if he has always thought it was bright. It depends on the project. Some have been easier than others.
Today, our theme is diy in the kitchen.
We haven’t done a whole lot of changes in our kitchen. We have however, made it our own. Our kitchen was one of the main rooms we fell in love with it. It is warm, has beautiful hickory wood cabinets, nice granite and a neat Harlequin tile back splash. All that was already done by the builder and we never felt the need to change it. Even through the years when I see so many taking a paint brush to cabinets, till this day I have never felt the desire. I have wanted to re-stain the island, but the hubby said, NO, NO, NO. He doesn’t put his foot down often, so I am happy now he did because it wasn’t a smart idea on my part.
Probably to date my favorite project in the kitchen is our Rustic tobacco wood diy pantry door.
It’s definitly one of those projects that once it was complete, you say to yourself, “that was worth the hassle” honestly, it wasn’t too much of a hassle.
What I love about this project is it now ties into the family room, where we added the tobacco wood shutters flanking each side of the fireplace. The two rooms adjoin, so it’s nice to have that cohesive flow.
The Bernzomatic comes in different sizes for all sorts of projects both big and small. It’s a great little tool to have on hand. You can also, distress your furniture for that old weathered worn look!
