Oh gosh, this time of year just gets me too excited! It is my all time favorite season to craft for. Actually, it’s probably a tie with Fall. Spring is my least favorite..because I’m just not into pink and pastels.
Welcome! Today is our seasonal Dollar tree Christmas party that Shannon (Fox Hollow Cottage) and I have been hosting for about 3-4 years now. It’s our favorite party.
My Mom and sister are here as well this week and I am excited to spend the holiday with them. It’s tradition. We have a fun week planned too.
Anything Dollar friendly is welcome. It doesn’t have to be just from the dollar tree.
I’ve shared with y’all before that every time I visit the dollar tree I try to look at ordinary things in a different light. Some things have turned out well, while other things I have tried are a flop. That’s the way it goes though. I always say you never know until you try. I never feel too bad for the flops because they don’t cost me a lot to flop!
Can you guess by looking at Santa what that is? A scarf?, a glove? nope, it’s a sock.
They had such cute Christmas socks at the dollar tree I wanted to be able to use them in some sort of craft.
So what I did was paint a dollar tree wine glass with the Americana decor chalky finish paint. Two coats, and let it dry in between coats. I let the glass sit over night because I had several crafts going at the kitchen table. We can’t even eat at our table this time of year it seems. I have stuff all over!
After the two coats of chalky paint the next day I went over the glass with a little sparkle mod podge. We all need a little sparkle in our lives this time of year.

I used one sock and cut it in half. I rolled it around the ball of the glass and tucked in the end under the glass. Just straighted out here and there, and that was it. I tied some bakers twine around the stem. You can certainly add your own twist to a festive Christmas glass/candle votive holder.
The party will be open until Christmas. So no worries if you can’t jump in right away. If you do not have a blog and want to share with me what you created this season from Dollar budget decor, please feel free to send me your pics and I will share them on my Facebook.
