It was a ridiculous price!
So I made my own!!~ Pottery Barn knock off Christmas garland.
This seemed pretty easy to me.
I saw this garland in the pottery barn catalog, they are great inspiration, and I love their ideas, but no way will I pay their prices. Soooooooooo….I started with this, and ended with that!
Created my Holiday saying with my font of choice. |
I then tea bagged the paper, let it dry,
cut it with the craft scissors into strips. |
First I cut the paper to the size as shown. I then soaked the paper in the tea bags after I boiled the tea bags.
I gently took the paper out of the water and placed it on a cookie sheet to dry. Once it dried it looked a bit aged. The print never came off…it stayed on with no problems at all.
I easily attached it to the tree with a clothes pin.If you want to get fancier you can also glitter the clothes pins, or even spray paint them |
And here is the inspiration originally from Pottery Barn.
if I can do it, you can do it!
Have fun.
Oh and I did add some music notes found in the craft scrap book section at the Walmart.
Terri
Looks great….what a neat idea. I love Pottery Barn also but not their prices :/ Way to go on the craftyness 😉

I had that exact PB garland in my hand Sat. Then I looked at the price ($12 for a VERY small amount). I then looked at the tree it was displayed on and saw that they used 6 ROLLS! Needless to say, it went back on the shelf. I do love that store, and honestly I use it for inspiration more than anything. I can see you do to. Great project!!

Very nice Debbie! I love copying expensive looks..and knowing how thrifty I did it…once in a while I'll spurlge on something special but I love the bargain!

Debbie
Yes you can do different words…I wanted them the same size because I also made something else for the tree, soon to be shown as well. Thanks for the compliments, I am feeling confident in the craft section now.

You are better at crafting than I am. I don't know how to download fonts and print like that plus my printer doesn't work right anyway. Those are great looking.

Well done. I will not pay those prices either. We went to the PB Outlet and I could not find anything except 2 ornaments I was willing to buy…that's another reason Joe loves me. BTW you are crafty. hugs♥olive

You say you're not crafty…well, I say you are!!! What a wonderful crafty ornament!
Amy @ Homestead Revival
Pam @ diy Design Fanatic told me you had a post on the same banner from Pottery Barn! Love your adaptation! I'm going to try to use a roll of brown wrapping paper to make a similar banner but it will say "Happy Birthday, Jesus" instead. Since I can't run it through the printer, I think I'll just use a black sharpie or something. So much better than paying the $12 for less than 2 yards of garland!
Jane
I saw that in the PB catalog too….love your version and I really like the idea of using the clothespin.
