Hi there everyone!
Oh those dreaded huge, take up the whole space builder grade mirrors!
Today, I am sharing how removing builder grade bathroom mirrors can make a world of difference.
I admit, it took us way too long. My husband and I were always under the impression these huge mirrors were glued to the wall and after removing there would be a lot of damage and repair to be made.
Not the case. At least not here. They were simply attached with brackets and easily removed.
After they were removed we were shocked how nice the wall was behind them.
I found some tutorials for you to check out just in case you were thinking on doing the same.

Or
How to remove a builder grade mirror
{if you have the clips on the mirrors there will be little or no damage behind the mirror}
We did not actually do it ourselves. We had our master bathroom painted and the painter offered to do it. He was also kind enough to haul them off for us.
You may recall I shared our master bathroom refreshed last year.
I only shared a smidgen of this side because the entire wall was mirror. This is only my side. My husband’s side had a wall of mirror as well.
We did, however frame the mirror out and that was an improvement for the time being.
You can see how to add molding around builder grade mirrors. It’s a cinch.
Last week the painter was here to paint and refresh our kitchen.
He was so reasonable, and quite frankly Mike hates to paint, and with my bum shoulder on the mend, I just did not want to tackle this job.
Our ceilings are very high and it would be difficult to stretch that far up for me.
The new bathroom color we chose is called monroe bisque
The new mirrors we found on Amazon by Gatco.
We bought two and they were less than $100.00 each.
They even rotate which is nice depending on the angle you need to check yourself out.
This is Phase I of our bathroom makeover.
Eventually I would love a new shower door
even though I love the stenciled shower door, it again was just a quick fix to something I did not care for from the start.
I would also love a new counter top and be rid of the cultured builder grade marble.
Although, I considered painting the counter top like we did in our guest bathroom. I really think in the master I would like the real thing.
Granite or stone of some sort with a nice bowl sink. Ahhh, a girl can dream for now.
Everything in small steps. As my tag line says
Home wasn’t built in a day. We really live by that motto.
I will also change out the hardware on the wood cabinets.
Something fun and perhaps crystal like.
Definitely a step in the right direction.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope you stay awhile and if you are not a regular…consider it:)
XO

Love the new mirrors Debbie…so much prettier then the huge mirrors the builders install! You were lucky…when we removed all of ours they were glued on!! The hubs had to repair the walls before we painted…wish they had used clips!

Wow, what a difference. I bet it’s shocking to walk in and not see a huge wall of mirrors. Love the new look Debbie!

What a wonderful improvement! Those new mirrors are great.

Love the new mirrors and I’m afraid ours are glued to the wall and made a huge mess when we recently removed one. Two more bathrooms to go eventually. Have to talk hubby into the master bath removal. Men!

Your new mirrors are gorgeous, Debbie! We have been wanting to do this for a while, but we are scared to death that they are glued on and we are not good at all at repairing walls. LOL One of these days we are going to get brave! 🙂
Debbie
Why is it that when i am away from the computer and blog land, you do the best stuff? It has taken me for-evah to read what I missed here in just a little over a week. Serves me right for being so distracted.
As to this? I LOVE them, and I want to take ours down as well. I had thought about framing them, but like you I just want something smaller and prettier. Love the look of yours.
And I happen to have a sample of monroe bisque here at the house. It was one of the 4,728 colors I tried for my living room in the past few weeks. It was close… but not close enough to what I was trying to find. Picking the right beige was a big fat pain in the wazoo.

Hi Debbie,
Again, a great job…..the blue vase, I just bought one exactly like it at a Thrift Store. I am making a bird feeder out of it, I also bought a large blue dish. $3.00 each and I know $ tree has epoxy glue……Love $ tree……..Judy

Very pretty, Debbie, and what a change it makes. We have a full wall of mirror over our double sink and vanity area. Unfortunately, because we are in a condo we have no window so it is kind of a benefit in our case reflecting the lights and giving us quite a bit. I would still love to frame it out, but that would have to be a diy project.

Wow what a difference! That is on my someday to do list….it is getting longer too LOL! What a gorgeous bathroom!

Hi Debbie, your new mirror and light look great and also familiar. Would you believe I put in a very similar mirror in my long awaited bathroom redo, currently underway and we have the exact same light fixture. I bought my mirror from Amazon too.
