Good day there everyone!
Today I am sharing how to make a breakfast smoothie with Carnation Breakfast essentials.
Quick, healthy and very tasty too. In fact, my son has asked for one every day since.
It was a great way to start the day with something yummy and all the essential vitamins you needed for a good breakfast.
The past year my boys have not eaten breakfast. Why? Well, they are both teenagers now and seem to be on the run in the morning.
I don’t like that they don’t eat, but I can’t force them. Seemed when they were small it was not a problem. They came down for breakfast and sat at the counter every morning and either had a bowl of cereal, or a breakfast sandwich. They would even have french toast sticks or pancakes. None of which I made they were the frozen kind. I know bad Mama!
This past week the boys have had those State standardized tests and the school stresses the importance a good breakfast. Fuel for the brain per say.
I asked the boys if they would perhaps enjoy a smoothie in the morning on the go sort of breakfast?
Jack my younger one was all for it.
I used French Vanilla Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder form found at Walmart. Here is a $1.00 off coupon for you if you are interested in giving it a try.

Available in a variety of ready to drink shakes, powders and bars.
So the next morning I got out my blender, a few yummy fruits and granola.
This literally took me all of 5 minutes to whip up! Such an easy solution to those busy mornings.
Heck, even if I don’t want to get up in the Morning with the kids, they are old enough to whip this up themselves. It’s definitely kid friendly and they can easily prepare.
Touch of Granola on top.
Everything healthy and tasty to boot.
I thought there must be 50 ways to make a smoothie with Carnation Breakfast Essentials.
I actually made up my own and will share with my recipe card at the end.
Not only will your kids have a healthy breakfast to start, so will you!
I have to admit, I indulged. It was so delicious and filling.

Instructions
- First I added my frozen yogurt, ice, milk and powder packet of French Vanilla Carnation Breakfast essentials.

I would totally drink one of those for breakfast, and probably should, I’ve gotten in the bad habit of not eating and then starving by late afternoon. Too late for lunch and too early for dinner.

What a great tip, Debbie! Never would have thought to use these for a smoothie! Thanks for sharing!

I would have to read all the ingredients on the breakfast essentials. I use 1 cup silk vanilla almond milk, 1 greek flavored yogurt, 2 TB golden ground flax seed for my breakfast smoothie. If a person prefers non flavored greek yogurt that is fine. And I use other fruits besides bananas , change off on my breakfast smoothie.
Thank you for the recipe

Sounds good to me! I’m going to try this brand and see how it works out. I love smoothies in the mornings, however, some of the protein powders have not agreed with me. I’ll bet this one will ~ 🙂
I’ve missed you! Have had so many technical issues the past couple of months and it’s been extremely frustrating. You know I’m not a techie person. 🙂

P.S. Jack is soooooo cute!
