Good day to you! I just knew down the road this thrifty chair I picked up would have a few thrifty changes. Welcome to another thrifty series. That’s the fun part for me, when you can actually pay very little for something and change it up a few times to look totally different. In this case, this thrifty chair went from a pretty pop of Spring, to a subtle warm fall change.
Y’all remember my happy Spring chair? It wound up residing on the Spring porch for a while, then I switched it out into the garden.
I had too much stuff on the porch. I swear it felt like you could hardly enter the front door. I guess I like a lot of junk around. For some reason the Sanford and son song comes into my mind.
DUNT DUNT DUNNIT… DUNT DUNT DUNNIT DUNNIT DUN DUNT DUNT DUNNIT….DUNT DUNT DUNNIT DINIT DUNNN DUNT DUNT …DINT DUNT DANT DANT DANT DERRT DERRRT DERRRNT DERRRNT DEERNT DERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! Now try to get that tune out of your head for the day:)
Out came by handy dandy chalkworthy paint. I gave the chair two good coats, and let it dry in between going over it. Then I used some black chalkworthy wax to sort of make it look weathered and dingy.
I added a few pumpkins, gourds, straw and a welcome sign.
I found the sign at Walmart for $4.00. Of course, I had to stencil my pumpkin with a monogram letter.
Threw in a few little pumpkins and pine cones to the Urns. Those are painted years ago with chalky paint and look, they are still holding up awesome!
A few mums here and there. Just waiting for them to open. I hate that they don’t last very long. Is there a secret I don’t know about? Perhaps, how do you make them last longer? Not that it would matter if you told me, I would still kill them, even with little to no effort.
I’m certainly welcoming the season all over the place.
Did you miss this years Sanford and Son fall porch?
Yes, a lot goings out there.
♥ Tis the season. I love ♥.
There is plenty more where this came from.

Looks good to me. My fall porch consists of some mums in buckets, and dead leaves. Yours is much more inviting.

So pretty, Debbie…I love everything about it! My mums are nearly done already…and those that aren’t, are keeping the squirrels very well fed this year…arrgghh. They just sit out in my flowerbox and feast away.
