100+ Dollar Tree Valentine Craft ideas
Hi there friends! With more love right around the corner, I was inspired from my last trip to the Dollar Tree. I have to admit, here lately I have not gotten my mojo on like I used to. The last two crafts I made, I can’t even share because they were a hot mess. I do plan on trying them over. Some days you got it, while other days, you need just step aside.
For this project you will need, LOVE sign, fabric, Mod Podge, sponge brush and white chalky paint.
This love sign almost was a mess up, but then I stepped away and came back to it, and everything fell back into place.
The love wood sign came from Dollar tree. I started off with white chalky paint. As I was going along, I felt it to be boring. I quickly wiped off the paint and left the craft scene.
Later on that day, as my craft sit there lonely, I ran to my craft stash bin. I found some pretty plain gray and white material, and my jar of modge podge.
First, I traced the love over the material as shown. If you have smaller fabric scraps, those will work too. Just cut them to shape and piece on each letter accordingly before you begin. That’s the key to crafting, PREP first. I tell you this, because that seems to be my mistakes. I just go along as I go, typically with no plan.
I then painted the LOVE sign in sections with Mod Podge using a sponge brush. Next I gently place my traced and cut out material over the sign. As I went along I smoothed it out. You can always go back and trim any excess material you may have over hanging slightly on the letter. Wait until it is completely dry.
I bought these signs at the Dollar Tree. Clearly not to my style, and why not make them our own. I have seen some neat things creatives are doing with these signs.
I gave my sign two coats of white chalky paint and let completely dry.
Once the LOVE sign was completely dry, I still felt it needed a little more texture. Twine always does the trick. I kept the twine on the roll and followed the pattern as I hot glued around the edges.
My last and step was to hot glue the LOVE on the board. I think I will be taking this little love to the condo and hanging it somewhere there. What I like about it, is that it is not just for Valentines day, but for any day.
There’s nothing a little Mod Podge and chalky paint can’t do to bring a project to life.
Hope you enjoyed this little Dollar Tree Valentine’s craft. I have just a few more up my sleeve. That is if I can reset my brain and fix the ones I messed up on.
Pin it, make it, enjoy!
