Spring Carrot craft with Rit dye and twine

Yipee!

Spring has Sprung around here.

How about where you are?
I sure hope so! I know it is has been a long, hard cold winter for many.

if it makes you feel any better, it was pretty sucky here in the South.

Today, I am sharing a Spring carrot craft with Rit dye and twine.

diy carrot out of foam and twine rit dye

The first time I dyed sysal rope  and dyed burlap was back in the fall.

I loved  both those projects and  thought I would try it again and make with a cone foam carrot!

Easy, wrap and hot glue every so wraps you go.

After your foam cone is completely wrapped

that is when you can dye the twine.

I used it straight up from the bottle, and simply brushed it on with an artist craft brush.

Two coats made the color richer.

Perfect carrot color Sunshine orange.  One of my favorite colors here.

I use it on my Sunshine orange dollar tree vase

and my Gesso and round bowl vase pumpkin.

mod podged eggs

I made these mod podge eggs last year.  Never did get a chance to show you.

Just like I never showed you my Butterfly vase I made last year.  When I opened up my Spring tote this year

it was all a happy surprise.  You forget what junk you have after a while.

Spring craft ideas with mod podge

I just mod podge on a plastic dollar tree egg with some garden magazine clippings.

Nothing has to be perfect when you do these little crafts. It’s all about the relaxation and just going with it.

I used a faux grass sprig from the dollar tree for the stem.

Funny part is I had it on the wrong end at first and when my son Jack came home he said

Oh that is pretty neat Mom but you have it wrong.  I argued with him, but it turned out he was right lol!

What a cute idea! I haven’t used the Rit dye for crafts…guess I need to change that. :)

Sorry I haven’t been around much…still having technical problems here. I don’t even have
    my phone # back. :(

Have a great weekend! It’s absolutely gorgeous here today after our storms last night. It’s
been too warm and high humidity and yes, that brings the storms & tornadoes.
