Don’t forget to eat your veggies

I have been sharing so many calorie packed yummy foods here lately it was time to call in the troops!

Welcome back Julie.

Welcome to the April edition of…

It’s slowly warming up here in Michigan. I mean, s-l-o-w-l-y.

Every day the snow piles seem to get a little smaller.

I even caught a tulip poking through in our flower bed :)

Soon, I will be getting outdoors weeding, walking, and getting back in shape after the long indoor Winter.

That puts me in the mood for more vegetables.

Not all of us enjoy veggies, so I’m sharing a few recipes that may change your mind.

I think this “Roasted Broccoli” could possibly change President George Bush’s mind.

It is absolutely the best way I have ever made broccoli.

The next recipe is actually very special to me.

It’s from my Grandmother, Nano.

Here she is holding me in the 1970’s on her car.

Oh, how I loved this woman.

She made me peanut butter & jelly sandwiches until I was old enough to try her

Creamed of Asparagus on Toast“.

Creamed of Asparagus on Toast

“Creamed of Asparagus on Toast” is a creamy sauce with hard boiled eggs, and blanched asparagus.

It’s nutty/salty flavor, and creamy/crispy texture takes comfort food to a whole new level.

Nano would be proud I shared it with you :)

There’s one more recipe and it’s by a friend of mine…

Her name is Nicole, and she is a featured chef on “Redhead’s Kitchen”.

Oh those foods look so good! I’m a huge asparagus lover, so the recipe with that looked appealing. I’ve never loved brussel sprouts, but I’ve learned that I like things better when cooked differently. Her recipe is worth checking out for that!

Hi Debbie Dear! Oh, I love that this blogger shared her granny’s recipe. This looks and sounds so good. Now something in my most delicate taste buds will not let me eat brussel sprouts! :) That wreath is too adorable. Hope you’re doing good and have slowed down enough to take a couple of breaths. You just amaze me!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia :)
