Christmas cottage tour by Miss Kopy Kat

Thank you so much, Debbie, for inviting me to
share my Christmas cottage home with your readers!
Even though I am MUCH older than Debbie, I feel like
she is my blogging “mother”.  How would I have ever
kept blogging that first year without her advice and
encouragement through her “Newbie” blog parties?
Let’s start the tour of my house with the outside.
I have just completed all new decorations for the front of
the house for Christmas this year.  After several years of more
subdued and sophisticated outdoor decor, I decided to go
for colorful and fun this year in a bright green and red scheme.
The first item that was made for the new decorations was
deco mesh wreaths for all the front windows on the house.
To get the colors that I wanted in the ribbons and meshes,
I wanted to buy early for the best selection.
Usually I have a wreath on the door but with six wreaths already
on the house, I decided to go with a painted burlap Christmas tree.

To tie in the with the deco mesh wreaths, a deco mesh garland
was made to go around the front door.
Oversized faux candies were made from canned insulation
foam, plastic plates, wrapping paper, cellophane and ribbons
 to attach to the garland.
Extra large Tootsie Roll Pops and candy canes fill the urns
on the front porch.
Swirly lollipops and mint-shaped candy surround the mailbox.
Decorations on the inside of the house include the
“reason for the season”…a manger scene…
…dining room table vignette…
…bottle brush trees and spray painted bottles in the cabinet…

…more snowy scenes in the living room…
…a bottle brush mantle…

…and bottle brush critters in the kitchen.
Thanks so much for taking a tour of the Christmas
decor here at Kopy Kat Kottage!  I hope you will come
visit my blog “Miss Kopy Kat” sometime…Merry Christmas!

You have really out done yourself, Gayle! I loved your post on how you made your awesome holiday candies yesterday and I just love all of your bottle brush items. They are so unique and wonderful. You are so in touch with today’s themes and I always look forward to your creations. And I think we all thank Debbie for getting us started through her newbie parties.

I agree, Debbie has been a huge inspiration and help to so many of us.
Wow, the outside of your home looks amazing! I don’t normally like the red & bright greens but the way you have decorated reminds me of the North Pole (or what I imagine it should look like!), what an absolutely fun way to dress up the outdoors for the holidays! I’ve never seen so many bottle brush trees in one place before, but you really do make it look amazing. Your inside is as beautiful as your outside is fun! And I love all the little critters…so sweet!
I’m off to check out your blog, if this post is any indication, I imagine I’m in for a treat!
    Debbie :)
