Mediterranean style home tour

How fun! Debbie at Debbiedoos invited me to be part of her Home Tour series!

Who, me? Of course I would! I’d be honored!

We moved into this home ten years ago, when the kids were 10 and 13. That seems a million years ago! They’re in college and in the Navy now, so it’s pretty quiet, here at home!

The home is a two story Mediterranean style home, on a half acre, about a mile from the American River. No view, but we have lots of wild life dropping by. So far, we’ve successfully avoided the ever growing skunk population!

Outdoors is very green, with lots of valley oak trees, shrubs and patio space. There are lots of places to lounge, but we don’t do a lot of lounging!

It seems like there’s always something that needs doing! I think it’s just part of our DNA!

That’s our outdoor fireplace, on a cool evening, this past spring. They’re pretty to look at, but not terribly functional.

Let’s go inside!

Now, if you were ringing the doorbell, Tyler, a.k.a. Wonder Dog, would be meeting you within seconds. He doesn’t like to keep anyone waiting!

Once inside, you’ll find our formal dining room on the left…

…and the formal living room on your right.

We could almost confine our living to the family room…

…and master bedroom.

We recently installed hardwood floors upstairs and I really love them. It’s much more dog friendly, too!

As you can see, I like to stack pictures, whenever I can. And I keep a cute little Asian side table by the tub, stacked with fresh towels.

When we did our remodel a few years ago, we replaced the plate glass mirror with two framed mirrors, from Ballard Designs.

This is my son’s room which of course looked nothing like this when he lived here! We’re still moving back in here, after having the floors done.

I found this cabinet at an estate sale recently and I just love how it looks in here. It was probably meant for a dining room but this is where it ended up.

This is where my daughter stays, when she’s in town.

I love to find interesting old pieces to make a room feel “collected”.

I remember an older person telling me to enjoy my kids when they were young because they grow up so quickly. She was right!

Well Debbie, thanks again for having me here! It’s always fun to have friends over, when the house is picked up. There will be no pictures of the laundry room or the counter back by the garage door. You know, the one that seems to always be covered in tools, the dog leash, a roll of tape and the shoes that need to be returned? Yeah, that one! Come back soon and stay longer!

We’ll leave the light on!

*****Barbara from The treasured Home*****

Your Home is truly warm, collected, and an absolutely paradise!

Thanks for sharing with me and my readers.

Hope you pop on over to meet Barbara if you don’t already know her!
