Today I am sharing a burlap lampshade diy project done with mod podge.
My last post was all about decorating with burlap.
I recently did our bar stools over, and thought I would continue with another small project.
I would like to tell you it was fast and easy, however I would be lying.
This project popped into my head when I woke up this morning.
I love doing lampshades as you can see from some past posts,
Thought I would break out the mod podge..and get started on this new shade I wanted to tackle.
First I cut my rice bags to size the lamp shade.
I knew this would NOT be a perfect project, because if you know me, they never are perfect..bad on perfect, no perfectionist here.
Jack saw this project drying (dripping in the sink) He said Oh Mom that is pretty cool!
Project is still wet, could not wait to take pictures….another bad trait, NOT patient at all.
I used some upholstery tacks just for a touch of embellishment.
At the end of the day, and yes I say end of the day, because I think this project took me all day, I am pretty happy with it. I will see what Mike thinks when He gets home from work.
I so LOVE that you are not a perfectionist because I am. I am so totally immobilized much of the time because of it! I LOVE seeing how AWESOME this looks when you didn’t freak out completely over making it exactly perfect! I’m so inspired now to just go throw one together, and LOVE IT!!! Thanks for the inspiration.

I like the wooden picture in the back, was it a DIY project? Do you have any information for that? I’m doing some photo to wood transfers right now and trying to find out how to make wood like nice, old, used, etc, like your wood here with the picture of the cock.
You have any ideas for me?

The rooster picture came from a local home goods store that is now out of business.
Debbie, this lampshade turned out wonderfully. Who cares if it isn’t perfect – it’s burlap! Did you just mod podge the burlap onto the existing lampshade? If so, was it a fabric shade or the cardboard type?
